A new study warns of the impact of violence on social networks on youth values
A recent research study reveals serious dimensions of the impact of widespread violent scenes on social media platforms on moral values and behaviors.
The study, titled "The Value Impact of Violent Scenes on Social Networks," will be presented by Dr. Jihan Sabak Khalifa at the First Makarem Conference organized by the Makarem Center at ACADEMION International University on September 11.
The study clarified that continuous exposure to various forms of violence, from physical and verbal to symbolic and cyber harassment, leads to serious behavioral changes among youth, such as increased aggression, anxiety, and fear. It also indicated that these effects extend beyond the youth age group to include children as well.
The study analyzed scientific theories and previous field studies on this topic, relying on statistical data and case studies, to reveal cultural and gender differences in the impact of violence on social networks.
Dr. Jihan Sabak Khalifa emphasized the importance of education and media in mitigating these negative effects, calling for the establishment of policies and measures aimed at reducing the spread of violent content across digital platforms and promoting positive values in society.
This study aims to raise awareness among researchers, educators, and policymakers about the dimensions of this problem, and to provide new insights that contribute to effective solutions to address this growing challenge.
