Academicians Navigate the Virtual Worlds
APEXSCI International University organized a scientific meeting titled: "Metaverse.. Navigating the Virtual Worlds" through its cultural platform. This activity is part of a series of meetings organized by the university to enhance scientific and cultural awareness among its members and followers.
The university hosted Dr. Lina Ahmed Al-Farani, Associate Professor of Educational Technology at the Faculty of Educational Graduate Studies at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, in the cultural meeting.
For her part, Ms. Laman Mohammed, a researcher in the metaverse and artificial intelligence, opened the meeting by welcoming the attendees and everyone who contributed to the success of this important scientific meeting, stating that the goal of these meetings is to encourage the Arab and Islamic community to develop their scientific skills in the virtual worlds.
Dr. Lina Al-Farani provided a complete explanation of the term metaverse and its multiple functions, emphasizing the need to navigate boldly in the virtual worlds and work on raising awareness among individuals and expanding their scientific cultural horizons in the new world.
Al-Farani addressed the future of the metaverse, especially in Arab societies, in addition to highlighting the main challenges it faces, particularly regarding ethical immersion.
For his part, Dr. Mishal Al-Mahlawi, Vice President of ACADEMICS International University, revealed that the university is in the process of using metaverse technology in education and training, as it plays a role in bridging the gap between the real and digital worlds in a three-dimensional form through virtual reality technologies, which positively reflects on students and trainees and achieves the university's vision and goals.
